The case hasn’t been dropped. It’s not recommended until having GC in hand.

hello are you in removal proceedings in your asylum case I.e have you gone for interview and your case was transferred to an immigration judge?or is it just pending?

Hi lammy, it is pending for interview at the asylum office. Not removal proceedings.

They would ask you if need be. You dnt have to tell them you ll drop it, they know that already. I went foe an interview last week, he asked me I seeker an asylum and I said yes, he said have I heard anything about it yet? I said no. He said okay, and that was it. They just need to know, it's not an issue at all. Everything went fine and that was all he asked abt asylum.
