Local Filing for I-130 Petitons?
Hello everyone! I’m wondering if, due to the pandemic, anyone was able to file form I-130 from a US Embassy abroad? I live overseas with my husband, and it’d be much more convenient for us to file directly with my embassy, but they’re not accepting phone calls right now :/

hi! in a similar boat myself.. our attorney advised us to still have my husband file the petition within the US, and then the interview etc will occur at the US consulate in Amsterdam (I’m Netherlands-based currently!). 7 months since USCIS acknowledged receipt of our case, but we have been told to estimate anything from 8 months to 18 months for the next step. Many of the local embassies in the EU have been closed and have backlogs to process, too, due to the pandemic. Hope you figure out the best approach for your situation 👍🏼
