hello @Mercy E. our k1 was approved on May 23 as well and we are still waiting for the welcome letter😭, my fiancee is from 🇲🇽mexico, and it took us 388 days to get our k1 fiance visa approved

I’ve heard there’s a huge backlog in Nigeria and Mexico.

somebody I know from Mexico. she got approved in January and she got her visa last Thursday. ☹️

So we filed March 2020, we got approved November 2020 then I had my interview August 2021. This could also be because of covid restrictions (I had to go to London) now we are waiting again since January for the green card

mercy E ok you know after your welcome letter you have to go online to That website that’s in the welcome letter and pay your fees and upload your documents that’s step 2 after the USCIS approves your case

mercy E my husband is Nigerian and Lagos will also be the embassy we use

@chima! I thought nvc will be the one to get back to u, my husband has sent them a mail but they replied that once it’s his turn they’ll get back to him

mercy E yes they will get back to you after you’ve done your part like for me my i130 was approved july22 the nvc sent me my welcome letter through email on july25 i paid my fees like they told me to on july 26 and i turned all my documents in after i gather everything august 19 now im just waiting for them to approve my documents and give my husband his interivew date

mercy E sounds like to me he just sent them a email and you all never did what nvc said to do in the letter

chima they didn’t state in d mail that we should pay any sort of fee or something. what was stated in d mail was within 4-6 weeks we’ll get back at u but u can contact us if u didn’t receive any further mail from us

also, it was an approval letter that was mail to my husband! and they stated that they forwarded our case to nvc n that they’ll get back to us
