Greetings, I wanted to ask if it is necessary to bring an interpreter for the consular interview for residence or change of status. I am living in New York and my interview is at the end of June. Thank you.

From what I’ve heard, if you’re married to someone who speaks fluent English it is not in your best interest to do so, because the interview is going to question how you and your spouse communicate. But if you both speak a foreign language, you should so that there is no confusion when you are asked certain questions.
