I don't know, I think I'm going to wait for the approval notice of the ead card to arrive and follow the instructions that come there.

I called them today. they said they don't have my information. I am waiting on the ead. once I get it, I'll call them to schedule an appointment. normally appointments are month long. so I don't wanna waste more time

I looked for an example of approval notice of ead in google and it said that you have to wait at least two weeks for it to arrive, I suppose they make the ssn request after they already send you the ead.

on the i765 did you request for them to send you a ssn? they usually send it a week after approval from ead

I did. but some people also did the same but they didn't get it. then they had to speak with SSA to schedule appointment.

I just received my approval notice, and the letter does not say anything about ssn, but on the ssa website it says that I must wait for 7 working days before contacting them.

yeah my dad got his ssn a day after he got the ead but that was I'm 2020 let's see how it goes with the post office being slower starting this month to save on cost

hey Maddy. mine was dispatched yesterday and I got the tracking. it is expected to be delivered by Friday but I think it's already in houston so it will be delivered to my lawyer tomorrow. Ill pick it up from him and call SSA to check if my SSN has been produced, if not I'll schedule an appointment with them to go in person and get it done. The reason is sometimes they receive information before our appointment and sometimes after. I don't want to wait for USCIS to send the information so I'll just schedule anyway. If I get SSN before that, well and good :)

I called a couple of days ago, they told me that I must wait 3 weeks and to call next Wednesday if it has not arrived, when the 3 weeks pass then they will give me an appointment, that’s stupid 🙄

@maddy; I got a call back from SSA office and they scheduled my in person appointment on Oct-20. I would suggest you call them and ask them to schedule your appointment. request them that you got a job offer and you need SSN urgently. and also tell them it's been 3 weeks. they might do something

@samran Hi, they made an appointment for me on November 30, a girl who happened to her exactly the same, told me that she received her ssn before the appointment and that her ssn came from another state that was not her local office, maybe that's why her information never showed up in her local office system. This gave me hope, hopefully the same will happen to me, because no matter how much I told her that i have a job offer, they didn't want to give me an appointment sooner.

@maddy: at least they gave you appointment but Nov 30 is very far man!! I just went to the SSA for my appointment. it took 10-15 mins. Although I had to wait 2 hours outside because they didn't have my name in their list. lol

Here in NJ they don’t accept anyone without an appointment, they don’t let you pass the door, I had to wait two hours for the phone to get an answer. 😣 I really hope get the ssn by mail before the appointment because I am tired of wait🥺

hey Maddy! congrats man! well, Houston is the slowest of all so currently October cases are being processed for the interview. I am expecting mine during May-june 2022
