I-693 Deficiency Notice for i-485
Hey guys, I got a notice of request for I-693 (Medical Examination) form. The letter states that I should just wait for a second instruction, whether I’ll have an interview or mail it. What’s your experience with this? Should I carry on and do the medical exam just to be ahead of time and hold on to it till the second notice, or rather wait since it can only be accepted within 60 days? Confused. Please, share your experiences/thoughts 🙏🏻

I think it's better to just wait until you get your interview notice before you do the exam. Got my over 3 months ago and still no interview.

i have same notice came in January. i didn’t medical yet. don’t waste your money doing medical now. you will have enough time to get medical. when your pd?

I haven’t gotten anything yet, still waiting...what about u? How long did u wait until u got the request for medical?

my pd was in august 2020. got EAD in December. January they send medical notice. since then case is ready to be scheduled for an interview. it’s been 9 months in total.

Just to clarify the 60 day timeline you are referring to is for filing I-693 along with your I-485 submission. Validity of I-693 is 2 years from the date of completion. So if you were to get it done today then it will be valid for 2 years from today.

that was just a curtesy letter. it is wise to do exactly what you are told to do in any notice you are sent. your request for i693 form to be completed will have specific instructions for you and won't come before your biometric appointment is done
