I-551 Temporary Stamp
Has anyone here ever used the I-551 temporary stamp for travel while waiting for their physical green card to be received? My case was approved on December 30, 2023, but I have not yet received my physical green card. I am planning to apply for the temporary stamp so that I can attend my son's graduation back home.
I really need to go home for this important event, but I am a bit worried about potential issues with immigration when coming back. Can anyone share their experience with using the temporary stamp for travel?

hello! so what happened to me was that I lost my green card and I applied for a replacement card but in the meanwhile I needed to travel. so, what I did was call the USCIS to get the I-551 stamp and just told them when was my trip for and they scheduled me an appointment I think a week-month before my trip. so, don’t worry if you get that stamp on your passport.. your all good to travel it represent your green card.

@keila perdomo I have booked an appointment with the USCIS local office for my temporary stamp through their website. They mentioned that they will call me within 3 days to confirm the date and time.
My travel date is on May 4th, so I am hoping they will contact me soon for the confirmation so that I can attend my son's graduation.

that happend to me too. they told me like a week or two and I did received the call in that time frame. So, don’t worry it will work out fine. please update tho
