okay. non premium I-140 takes long time.

It can take upwards of 14 months in regular processing.

140 takes humungous amount of time. you should upgrade to PP. It is a myth that non PP cases have higher probability of approval. even if RFE, your case still will be decided in 15 business calendar days. you are loosing days you could use for 485. just my opinion.

PP for i-140 45 business days, not 15!

that’s for NIW only, and that is EB2. here the question is about EB1 and both a and b have 15 business days for pp

I submitted my case EB-1c in December 2024 with regular processing, is with Texas center. No news yet

it’s normal for I-140 to take more than a year of processing. I’d say 1-1.5 years is a normal timeline. some get lucky with faster processing, but I think that’s normally when they had an approved O-1 before or smth. Premium Processing definitely helps, it’s 15 business days for eb1a. it’s costly ($2805) but saves lots of nerves. as to me, waiting is the worst. I don’t know your circumstances, but I’d suggest upgrading to PP if it’s important for you to file AOS asap (e.g. if your current status is expiring, etc)

I understand all of this now, after having already filed the application. Unfortunately, I didn't file with premium processing (PP) based on advice from the immigration office I hired. They told me it wasn't worth it because USCIS was sending out RFEs (Requests for Evidence) and gaining time with that. Now it's no longer worth it, and I don't even know if I can still apply for premium processing. It's been 7 months since I submitted the application.

My i-140 case was filled by lawyer on 7 August 2025 and my priority date is 23 December 2023 and my category is eb3 unskilled but till now still i didn't get my case number of i-140. Can you please guide me on this?

@Jaiane Oliveira yes, you can still apply for premium processing after 7 months (might not be worth it though… I completed 10 months of wait (I-140 for EB1A - ROW)
