if they say you’re suppose to file i824 , do it soon because it’s a lengthy process and your case would still be at the USCIS

u have to mail it to the same service center that has your case, it cannot be filed online.

shannu i did not fill out the form yet it has been 3 months after I got approved from uscis. uscis sent my petition to nvc they said nvc gonna send me the form I 824 but I'm still waiting from nvc to get the letter

I applied for my dad July 2020 I got approved June 2121 they sent me a letter to tell me to follow the instruction on that letter, the letter said if you are in US you should fill form I 485 if you are outside the US you should fill form I 824 and then it said to request that we sent your petition to nvc. now It has been 3 months I'm still waiting from nvc nothing yet , I don't know if I have to call nvc or wait

in that case you must file i824 to have them transfer it to NVC
