@prazzi S Thank you. I am from Maryland and I had my case in Vermont. Although it looks like some of my applications get moved around, after I already submitted to Vermont. Eg. I submitted my Advanced Parole to Vermont, it was sent to Texas office. Then, Texas returned it to Vermont, before the approval last month.

@Emran pacha . I checked. it’s been a while too. However, your case will continue to be pending and unattended until your VAWA has been approved. if your VAWA is approved, then the time your case has been waiting will count. Thus improving your priority date. I wish you good luck my friend.

She found one lawyer, but the fees are quite high and she can’t afford them. I wanted to know if it’s possible for her to complete the process on her own, or if it’s really necessary to hire a lawyer. Your insight would be greatly appreciated, especially if you have any recommendations for affordable legal resources or organizations that might be able to assist. Thank you so much for your help!

@Anduy F Thank you 🙏. if your friend does not have other issues that they are dealing with like, civil and mesdeamenor cases, I advice that your friend can go ahead and apply for the VAWA personally. I started with a lawyer, but I removed him afterwards, because he was not serving any useful purpose for me. some basic package to submit. 1. Evidence of assault and or battery. 2. Pschological evaluation from your psychologist , evaluating how badly you have been dealt with in the relationship. 3. Evidence of marriage. 4. Evidence of spouse being a US citizen of legal resident. 5. Evidence of living together and doing thing together. like lease, rent payment, family phone plan, joint bank account. etc. 6. Denial of sex is also a form of abuse. 7. Also, your ability to chronologically tel your story and how your experience has hindered you from living your best life. (Pay attention to this part: it has to be smooth and relatable). 8. you can stil go ahead and have a lawyer review your case before submission. make sure you OWN your case. Never submit your life to your lawyer. 9. You can submit VAWA, EAD, I-485 together.
