what’s different of i130 and i485

tbh not sure but you have to apply to both, and according to my attorney your I-485 cannot be approved unless your I-130 gets approved so I guess there’s just a delay in the system

How long have you guys been married for?

an year and a half, but we’ve been together for 7 years

@Baltimore 410 i130 is the petition filed by the US Citizen spouse or permanent resident for the alien beneficiary that proves bona-fide relationship i485 on the other hand is the petition by the alien beneficiary trying to adjust status to become a permanent resident

so if the i130 is approve but you get an interview for i485 what could that interview will be mostly likely be about ?

same thing happened to me. 1-130 will be approved soon as well

In some cases i130 is approved if the petitioner(US CITIZEN)filed the i130 first as such no interview is required until the beneficiary of the approved i130 then files for adjustment of status i485 The i485 interview is to determine eligibility and bona-fide relationships for the benefits they are petitioning for

@ D D my i130 was concurrently file with i485 in 2019 as we both was living in the U.S but I was in removal proceeding and my wife is US citizen but we are waiting on the judge to terminate the proceeding after DHS agreed, are i130 was approved without any interview. but I heard i485 could mostly be security and eligibility questions. I had misdemeanor (alcohol drinking in public) but it was dismissed and expunged the ice officer told this crime was not a big deal when I was detained.. so what question they gonna ask when USCIS reopen my i485 that has been pending for 1,152 days? will it be relationship question bcuz my i130 was approved. does anyone know

I hope I get mine waived i expunged my misdemeanor just waiting for i485 to reopen with USCIS
