@James Bond, mind me asking if you had to stay in status all through the process?

@dee dee: yea was in status but case is a little different. when i130 was filed, was abroad, then came into the country on a visa till i130 approved and filed i485 since priority date was current

for those filing i485 - marriage based in Boston FO, please have enough supporting docs to show bonafide marriage. Also while I was there it seemed marriage based i485 were not going in for the interview together so please make sure you prepare for that. thought my spouse and I would go in together like I had been hearing so was suprised when 1 person was told to wait while the other went in. though I was never called in after she had her interview and we were just told to go that everything was fine and they will make a decision and get back to us

@Gods girl: I filed for my spouse. we went together and she was called in and I was told to wait as it appeared to be the standard practice while I was there for marriage based cases. when my spouse finished, she said the interviewer did not need to see me and that we can go so I was not interviewed but that’s not the general practice. a couple ahead of us both went in 1 after the other

we took a lot of documents from joint tax, both names on lease, she has my last name and photo album. my spouse told me the officer kept asking if she had any docs with both our names or if we took vacations. incidentally we took a vacation the weekend before the interview for her birthday. i had arranged all the files so she could find most easily but she did not know some docs were in the folder they asked for like my pension with her as beneficiary, insurance doc etc .. i thought we would go in together or separately so I could show all those things if asked since I prepared all the docs but never got a chance so please make sure you guys both prep all the docs together. i was worried when I was not let in that she may not find somethings
