@sara but I know someone that has pd 08/24/21 and they are still waiting for their approval and they are at California as well

Corine I saw once in uscis website that they approuve 97% of the cases and almost 3% cases need more background check.
Also it depends on the agent processing the case, he may be vary lasy and stuck on the 24th and others are more active...
