Advance parole
I got the combo card (advance parole + employment authorization) but I didn’t start working yet (I will in 2 weeks). Can I use the AP before starting using the EAD? I heard that it may cause problems with immigration when returning to the US, but I don’t quite believe it. Can someone help me? Thank you!

you can use them whenever you want. when did you apply and what service center?

yes I’m in your same position haven’t start working yet for the company I had use my AP on feb and march, nothing happened. you will be fine

thank you!! @Marcus I applied in October 2021 in Nebraska, but my case was expedited so it was faster than normal (:

AP is completely unrelated to EAD or its usage. used AP 3 weeks ago coming back from visiting family in Europe and no issues whatsoever. enjoy!
