mandamus
Hello everyone. I filed a mandamus lawsuit 28 days ago regarding my pending I-485; my file was transferred from the NBC to the Long Island Field Office, but it is still pending. Does anyone have any experience with this?

GOOD NEWS
GOOD NEWS FOR IMMIGRANT SURVIVORS: A federal judge has temporarily stopped ICE from routinely arresting, detaining, and deporting certain immigrants with pending VAWA self-petitions, U visa petitions, and T visa petitions.
In Immigration Center for Women and Children v. Noem, the court blocked ICE's January 2025 enforcement policy and restored important victim-centered protections nationwide. The ruling protects three principal groups: 1.
People with pending VAWA, U visa, or T visa cases whom ICE detains or seeks to detain. 2. People with pending U or T cases who received deferred action. ICE cannot simply disregard that protection or treat it as revoked without notice and an opportunity to respond. 3. Detained people with pending U or T petitions and final removal orders who request a stay before removal. ICE should not deport them before USCIS makes a preliminary eligibility determination.
Deferred action does not necessarily mean that the U or T visa was finally approved. It is temporary protection from deportation while the case remains pending. A bona fide determination means the case passed an initial USCIS review. A U visa waiting-list determination means USCIS found the petition approvable, but no visa is currently available because of the annual cap. Final approval is when USCIS actually grants U or T nonimmigrant status.
Approved VAWA beneficiaries also have important protections under ICE's victim-centered directive.
However, an approved VAWA I-360 is not yet a green card and does not automatically erase a removal order. Lawful permanent residence is obtained when the I-485 is approved. If you have been detained, have an upcoming ICE check-in, or have a final removal order, speak with an experienced immigration attorney immediately. Document submission after green card interview !
I had my green card interview on 6th August . it went really well . Mostly all basic questions were asked during my interview . Me and my wife live with my in laws after marriage to save money for future . During my interview which was on 6th August 2026 the officer asked me to get the signed affidavit of my in-laws as a proof that I live with them . I submitted the affidavit on the USCIS portal the very next day . I am confused shall I submit the affidavit in person as well . Does the help or no expediate the process ? need guidance .
Has anyone flown domestically recently?
I wanted to see if anyone has recently flown in the last couple of days/weeks. i’m aware of iCE Detaining people with pending status. I’m also well aware that having an EAD/ REAL ID or a pending case is not lawful presence. From the cases and arrest that I’ve seen have all been pending asylum or TPS Have not seen any specific VAWA applicants. just wanted to see if anyone can chime in.
53 months with expedite vawa and still waiting !
The most discouraging is that I see more denials from March 22 coming in lately than approvals.
This process will be much more fair at the future when applications go back to normal timelines and also the immediate denials of people not having enough evidence should be from the start , it was very good desition of this administration to start it.
But for us that filed 21/22 has been really unbereable. And all this because someone desided to permit this Petition that is supposed to be for woman that got abused , to be ugly used by 100 of thousands of men crossing illegally , we are in a second anxiety of waiting given all changing situations amd mistakes that can happen,
because of this fact because they came here illegally and needs to be detained is so Unfair for all of us women that we have a legitimate case and came legally and we had real life and careers some of us and our love for USA to make our life here has been such a difficult journey ,
may God ,universe and USCIS be fair with all legitimate cases🙏🏻
Travel to India on Advance Parole
Has anyone recently traveled from India to the U.S. using Advance Parole?
I need to travel to India this month and would really appreciate hearing about your recent experience. How was the immigration process when you returned to the U.S.? Did you face any issues or additional questioning at the airport?
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
