if you’re in US and AOS is in progress and if you leave the country without AP, your application is considered abandant

if you’re working from within the US remotely for your country I think you should be fine. if you have a AOS ongoing you can’t leave the US, otherwise your application will be abandoned. Refer to a lawyer for more clarity on your question

you can't not work under any circumstances without a EAD approved.no matter if you work remotely for another country.You are not paying taxes here and that is a problem.
