check your i130 if you choose both options like adjustment of status in usa and consular processing at beneficiary's country than you should pay fees of form i824

if beneficiary of i130 is in usa than simply call uscis at number given in approval notice and ask for further processing

but how uscis will know that you wanna do? they will not entertain your i824 unless you paif $465 fees

yes my i130 approved on 11 may 2022 and same mistake on my i130 thats why i filed i824 with fees of $ 465

I am in similar situation where I have to file I-824. Is it better to file with a lawyer? Also, in the form, I just need to file as petitioner, provide my wife’s info in part 3 principal beneficiary, and select 1d in section 2. Is that right?

Meet D we can not file i824 online as there is no such online portal available. my lawyer send form i824 along with check of $ 465 to chicagoo IL as instructed by uscis.

most people filing have waited years for their visa before the i824 so that alone won’t be a good enough reason. if you have an urgent humanitarian need that may work

I recently received I797 noticing my I130 has been approval. But was also asked to file 824 form. However, a friend (lawyer) told me not to, the case will automatically transferred to nvc.
