Did you show your employer your receipt notice, I believe that can serve as an extension for 540 days before your renewal is approved.

is your vawa based on marriage to a US Citizen or green card?

I am July 2023 and got my EAD and Advance Parole approved March 2024. I am still waiting on 360 and 485.

guys read what she said! she did mention that the 540 days extension had passed and she’s married to a US citizen. @Princess ede you need to file the C09 category for EAD because c31 would only be approved after your VAWA is approved and it is also possible that your ex has withdrawn your i130 making your i485 invalid. That may not be the case but if I were you, I’d file a new i485 alongside 765 in the C09 category.

@Shanice blue also, I had previously had my work permit that expired before I filed for VAWA. Would you say that I should file to renew my work permit that was expired? or just file the C09?

@Princess ede you don't need to file a new I-485. Complete another EAD form under category C09 and include a copy of the receipt notice for the I-485 you already have. Submit that with 2 pictures, copy of your ID etc. and submit. I'll try to find the list of docs my lawyer had given me

@Kerry S she might not need to file a new i485 if her old one is still pending and it has been held in abeyance so filing a new i485 cannot be ruled out completely depending on what her situation is as regards the old i485. we both do not know the status!

@Princess ede Since you had a work authorization c09 that expired you should file for renewal of that EAD, you don’t need to file another I-485 if your current one is still pending. All you need is attach the receipt to the form I-765 once you submit the receipt can now be used as an extension of your drivers license etc. Lastly pls not all application is to be sent to Vermont. You need to check where you fall under based on where you reside as people keep saying send to Vermont. You can file it yourself or get a lawyer who can do it for you if it’s too complex for you to do.

you don't need a PF to file for I765.

please make sure you used the Lincoln Nebraska address and NOT the Vermont address, someone did that and their package was returned.

@bridges 5 bit that work permit that expired was with my original filing that I did and was denied for before I filed my VAWA. can I still file for a renewal then?

@Princess ede if you have a pending i-485, you can file another C09 attaching the i-485 receipt and other necessary documents and send.

@Amen I at this point I can't tell you with any certainty. I was trying to find this on the website but there's a lot of confusing and conflicting information. I submitted mine and my son's to Vermont and they were approved. Others are saying Nebraska worked for them so I suggest you call because it might be based on where you live and your unique case
