Travel with Vawa AP (having asylum pending)
Hi everyone
I would appreciate hearing from anyone with a similar situation or know someone having similar situations.
I have a pending VAWA (I-360), pending I-485, pending asylum(not removal process) , and Advance Parole valid until 2029.
My expedite request was approved based on humanitarian and medical circumstances. USCIS later issued an RFE, I responded in November 2025, and my case is still pending.
I am considering traveling to a third country (not my asylum country) for medical treatment using my valid Advance Parole since delaying my treatment may have irreversible results.
Has anyone traveled on AP with:
* pending VAWA,
* pending asylum,
* and pending I-485?
What was your re-entry experience like? .

If you’re not traveling to your home country, AP may still be an option, but I’d strongly recommend checking with your attorney before booking any travel, especially with a pending asylum and VAWA case.

@K v Thank you for the opinion🙏. I asked few months back to my lawyer he said it is up to my discretionary but he personally thinks the shouldn’t be. any issues. So I want to know what are people’s real experience.

Take care of health here with your insurance,if you travel out of the country you just made dhs work a lot easier for you not returning . please do not travel I have friends that couldn’t make it in, some make it but cpb could not allow them in
