@staye .. to get state id you will need a passport identification proof along with valid visa stamping, and 2 residence address proofs like bank statement, credit card statement, utilities bill, etc is enough. i got state Id like this.

I think you can go to the DMV and get it from there. Check your state’s DMV website and look for identification card.

It's depends where you live. Here in California you can apply for ID without visa. Just passport, proof of residency and another form of ID (can be from other countries)
