did the officer give you the receipt showed that you have applied for ssn?

i think you should call them or come to the office again to check on your card status. i applied last 2 weeks, and got ssn on hand today. so approximately taking 2 weeks to get ssn

it's been 5 weeks for me too,when I called them they told me it takes 6_8 weeks..I think we just not lucky coz I know pple who have gotten it in 10days and below..nkt

he told me since my visa was not expired and now have green card he has to send the documents to the department of homeland for them to clear me first..I don't understand

mine nearly 3months now I have not received my SSN card , my EAD combocard was Approved April. I been to th SSN office they said call Homeland Security but no avail. Still waiting for SSN meraculously🙏

when ya’ll went to ssa office, were ssa officers be able to pull out your information in the computer? if no, that happened to me 1 month ago

I did, went to SSN office applied and follow up, still USCIS needs to cleared for approval!! It sucks coz’ USCIS approved my EAD combocard it goes back&forth…. it makes me crazy

@M D that’s the first time I’m hearing cause once your ead is approved you eligible for ssn cause you need it to work

called SS office , they informed me I have to wait until homeland security office confirms my information, sad thing is they tooky work only SS CARD. Now I sit here with not SS card and waiting for an unknown time line when will I receive it .

Is there any update on your case? Unfortunately I also falls into the same situation when my EAD is approved. No ssn for 1 month. Ans SSA can’t even give me a specific time or number.

@Tien, did you go to SSA to apply with your own form yet?

@Ja R: No form. I submitted my EAD, driver license. And I they just asked for my DOB, my birth place, my father’s name, my mother’s name.

Seems they started the application for you. Did you try to confirm again with them if you already have a number in the system? With mine, I have not received the card yet but they confirmed my SSN is already in the system.

@Ja R: I don’t know that I can get the number instead. maybe I will call them next week and ask for it.

@Ja R: Just back from SSA. It’s still pending. They ask me to be back after 10 days to submit a second request. By the way, I also call USCIS. They told me that they don’t see anything. They already sent a request to make a ssn for me in 07/15. Rignt now, I’m stuck between SSA and USCIS. @@

oh no.. i got my card in the mail on Friday.. I also was able to get my SSN number before the card when I went Thursday.. My SSN number was processed the same day I went to apply. I wonder why yours is pending.
