I would reccomend reaching out to your local SS agency it will help speed things up and get it sooner rather than wait for them.

take your gc to social security office and you will fill forms 4 your ssn

thanks Biggy, a form for SSN was sent to me from my lawyer along 1-485 and others. do you think I should still go ahead to local office??

it would come by mail in 3 to 4 weeks, but you can reach out to your local SSA

I will advise you to go there it won't take you so long and you will summits there and b4 10 days you will receive it

I’d advice you book an appointment with the SS office, take your new EAD with you and maybe your birth certificate or passport as well to verify your identity. that would be more faster. That’s what I did wey back in 2017 but I’m not sure if things might have changed now or not.

AJ I don't have EAD but my GC is on its way
