Yes, if you haven’t already indicated that you’d needing an SSN on the application you’d have to take the approval stuff from USCIS to the local ssn office.

I have the same dates as you, when did you expedite ? When did they respond ? can you please provide some details about that ? Thank and Congratulations ofcourse!

Thanks @Gin Tonic. I did indicate I needed the SSN on the application. I guess I will wait and hope it comes with the EAD Card.

@Gin Tonic. I called them on August 9th but the lady wasn't helphelpful.. She was just being straightforward and insisted I wait till 8months. I called again on August 11th, in the morning and this lady was quite nice.. I explained to her that I haven't worked over a year and my dependants are resuming school in few weeks so I need to start working.. I literally begged her to please expedite it for me and she was really nice..

Received an email that my expedite request has been approved and an hour later it was in my documents session in the online USCIS account. And the Lawfully App also notified me..

@ EE AA is it a good thing to request for expedite while you awaiting your RFE response .

@Ola... honestly I'm not sure but I think logically, it's better to wait for the response to the RFE. However, u can call them and ask for the status of the RFE and also request for an expedite.Expedite.. Just have a cogent reason to convince them... Early mornings are ideal time to call cos they are mostly mentally relaxed..

SSN card usually arrives separately, 1-2 weeks after the EAD. if you don’t receive it in couple weeks, you can go to the SSA office and apply there (make sure to check what documents you need on the SSA website)

@ee aa the best thing to go to ssn office with your card it will take only 15 minutes they will give you ssn number. and tou will receive ssn card by post on one week. i did same. i checked on application that i need ssn card but i never received it. thats why you should visit ssn office. it will be easy for you.
