you are exactly same my situation. only different is time line! I’m waiting the interview at the same time I don’t have a job for 7 months coz I don’t get the EAD yet. although I got REF for medical exam last month. I’m kind of worrying abou the interview due to no job!

@A J card produced on 04/30/2021 and card received on 05/08/2021. That's 8days.

@A J yes. I see it on informed delivery but they haven't delivered yet, because it's not a priority mail. Regular mails to my apartment are usually delivered after 3:00 pm.

if not how do you know it's being delivered today?

It is stated in the email USPS sent to me today.

USPS are usually slow in their delivery I am sure if you don't get it today you will get it by Monday. I have experienced it before.

congrats! I believe NIW can lose job, that is how it is different from regular Perm eb2. I am also niw finished my interview two weeks ago, but no updates since then. so you didn’t activate your 485 EAD, and that is why you lost job after you opt ead expired?

I have a job. but my lawyer told me niw doesn’t need to worry about employment. I am wondering why musha ken lost job since he has485 ead . my understanding is if he used 485 ead, he can extend and keep working until new 485 ead is issued.

yes I mean 765z. since Musharraf ken mentioned both opt’s765 and 485 ‘765. I think If he used 485 ead /765 then even if it expired, he can still work and wait for new card as long as he reapplied it before expiration date.

I never used EAD that was given to me on 03/15/2020 so it expired. When I realized that my OPT was expiring on 02/16/2021 I decided to renew my expired EAD on 11/03/2020. But it was never approved. Thats why I lost my job.

got you Masah. so my understanding is right, which means if you used EAD given to you on0315 , you can reapply before the expiration date, and keep working until new EAD is issued. anyway, you don’t need it anymore since you have your GC! congrats again!

I never used the I485 EAD because I bwas on OPT. I decided to renew it after it had expired when I realized my OPT was expiring.

@musah, got it. just for people who might have similar experience, they can activate 485 EAD anytime before it expires and then renew before expiration, so they won’t have gap for employment.

@20 21 then don’t worry! NiW doesn’t require you to keep employment status! once you have your EAD card , you can start to look for job.

@Musah Ken Congrats on your new status as a green card holder. I know the feelings, as I too got my green card 2 days ago. You mentioned you and your spouse were approved different dates? Is this correct and do you know why? I'm asking because my wife's application has still not been approved, while mine and my child were approved on 4/28/21. We are just confused about how they process applications that were submitted together differently/separately. My wife has international travel plans that is currently being put on hold.

here is my timeline 8/1/19 submitted the 140 REF for 140 2/2020 responsed 5/2020 OPT expired 8/2020. quet work at the same day 9/2020 140 got approved 10/2020 submitted 485/130/765 12/2020 did the biometric 4/2021 received REE medical exam 4/14/2021 USCIS received the my responsed on medical exam That is all!

@Green 20 Green 20 I don't know why bothof us were approved on separate days. May be it's because USCIS processes the green cards in groups and both of us found our applications in different groups.

Thanks for your response @Musah Ken. I didn't know they process in groups. I had thought same person will process applications that were submitted by a family. Particularly, this is an EB applications with history of H1B approvals that were always approved same time as the primary applicant. Hopefully, this coming week will bring a positive closure to her case!

@Musah Ken, this thread is very informative. Thank you for sharing so much. it gives some of (NIW-hopefuls) hope. My question is this. I included my wife and kids in my I- 485 application. They are abroad in my home country. When my green card application gets approved, does theirs get approved simultaneously too? 2. Can I apply for advance parole for my wife to visit me in the US while I am awaiting adjustment? anyone else with knowledge of these can help. looking forward to reading from you. God bless.

I submit i140 through my attorney on august 5 2022 now the status change to documents mail to me can any one explain what is it mean and what will be the next step
