depend on careless driving every state different sentencing or paying fine. accused person can be serving jail time for it upto 6 months some are more. my recommandation hire lawyer to reduce point and avoid jail sentencing or dismiss. if person goes to jail my answet yes if no this will not be affecting immigration status

to my little experience, it doesn’t affect anything. don’t waste your money on any lawyer. appear at the court. if he’s not having a riders license get your home country license before court date or apply for one before date. DO NOT MISS THE COURT DATE, DON’T BE LATE TO THE COURT. Guilty or not guilty, guilty with explanation. then tender every document and explain why you don’t have the license. Although you have to be brave to do this. the judge understands. But he should be ready to pay fine. I go to court to listen to pples case often. I have see a lot of this. they get to the court and they cry, I mean uncontrollable cry and accept they are guilty and the judge might just give them a warning or tell them to pay fine. one actually said he didn’t kill anyone or hit anything in the means of driving, the judge just told him not to drive till he get his license and dismiss the case.
