Opening joint bank account
Hi guys, I’m trying to open a joint bank account with my husband.
We tried to open it on Bank of America, but they are requesting proof of address which is making a complicated situation(utility bills in landlord’s name, me not being added to the lease). We don’t have SSN also.
How can we get through this? Are there any banks that only require proof of id? Please let us know if you've got anything.

try first convenience bank! plus, it also depends cos I know people who don’t have SSN and have BOA accounts

i have Wells Fargo I’m still waiting on my ssn, all they asked was 2 forms of ID I showed my passport and a government issued Id from my home country, and that was it

@lorin I made an appointment with them and went to the local office, I explained why I didn’t have a SSN yet they said it was fine and that was it, you file a form I believed it’s called W8 because you don’t have a SSN or ITIN

i have an account with my husband in Wells Fargo, they only asked for my passport, no SSN needed!
