on the spot approval
after 9 months we were interviewed and approved on the spot .
Married November 2020
filed I-130 and I-485 in March 2021
I -130 was approved in May
moved from NJ to CT in Oct 2021 and updated my address with USCIS in November. A week later my interview was Scheduled for Jan 20, 2022 in Hartford CT. Officer interviewed just me. my husband dint even come inside the office. He asked the questions on the I-485 form and then asked me 3 questions: when did we meet? where did we get married? what’s my husband’s date of birth. He went through a few photos, and kept the copies of the documents I brought— bank statements from the first four months of opening the joint account and the most recent four months statements, so 8 in all, purchase agreement for our house as we haven’t received the deed as yet, our baby’s birth certificate, homeowners insurance policy, life insurance listing me as beneficiary, utility bills, credit card bill listing me as authorized user, basically anything with both our names on it, I even brought our Costco executive membership cards.
so just bear in mind you have to show that you have combined your assets and pictures wiith you at family gatherings like thanksgiving, birthday dinners etc play a big role. it’s not a frightening experience. Wishing everyone on here good luck!

Waiting Patiently21 de ene de 2022
I bet it was the Costco membership that did the trick. Nobody can resist the fried chickens in a bag. Congrats 🎉🎈🍾🎊

his tea21 de ene de 2022
@Yanner V doesn’t matter. as long as it’s joint

@ m arias. great. keep joining as much as you can and as for the joint account make sure there’s activity on it. like use it to pay a bill that has both your names and other stuff like groceries and Uber etc. make sure money is going in and out of the account
cris arias21 de ene de 2022
@his tea, yes the accounts are all active frequently use it for bills and payments even the internet is on his name
his tea21 de ene de 2022

hi there! we just moved to California and our interview was scheduled just few days ago in Providence!!! should we change it? now i see you got scheduled right after you moved, also NBC

congratulations
Rey Fern21 de ene de 2022
i see you got your finger prints Aug 25,2021 and got your interview the next day how did that happen? did you receive a letter with your interview info almost at the same time you received your finger print appointment?
his tea21 de ene de 2022
@Reyna Fernandez my case updated to Ready to schedule for interview right after I did my biometrics. that’s why it’s saying that. it changed in December 13 to interview was Scheduled. I received the letter with the interview date around the 20th of December
his tea21 de ene de 2022
@Kristina K Providence Rhode
Island?
Rey Fern21 de ene de 2022
thank you so much for the info I have my finger print appointment next month!! 🙏🙏🙏
his tea21 de ene de 2022
if so call USCIS and update your address. once you update your address your case will be transferred to a FO close to you
kristina k21 de ene de 2022
yes Rhode Island. our lawyer took her time to update our address and she did so the exact day our interview was scheduled 🙄 if i had the combo card i wouldn’t mind but i didn’t receive that yet and i’m just worried switching to California will delay our process
his tea21 de ene de 2022
@ kristina k so do you think you wanna leave it that way and go back to RI for the interview just so you don’t miss it? I would do that cuz you don’t wanna run the risk of waiting to be rescheduled…..you gotta decide what works for you
kristina k21 de ene de 2022
right exactly, the only reason i would be ok moving it to cali is if my combo card arrived, says 7 months now and still nothing. how are people supposed to pay bills
his tea21 de ene de 2022
@kristina I received my combo card after exactly 7 months right when I moved. it actually went to my old address. luckily I was able to still get my mail from there. so with that said I updated my address with USCIS and USPS so eventually all my mail came to CT. however bear in mind you may not receive a EAD either. you just might only get a green card. that’s even better. I’d say make the trip for your interview girl

@his tea thank you so much for your help, very appreciate it!
