No point moving filing date if USCIS is not allowing to use it .

My priority date is exactly Dec 01, 2023. If action date is acceptable, so I can not file for just one day!!!

could someone explain what it means the dates? I don’t know which one is for work permit and greencard

20 dec here disappointed, they could take all 2023 for final action date ….

@it’s me T Filling date is when you can file your green card application and get the working permit. Final action date when USCIS can approve your green card.

@it’s me T @lou ma USCIS is typically use the Filing Date chart at the beginning of the fiscal year (October), and then around January- march, they switch to using the Final Action Date chart depending on the demand. They haven’t announced this yet, but most likely, that’s what will happen..

@A I was waiting for someone to say this. They usually do that to allow people to file early in the fiscal year to gauge the pressure that will be on their end. I see the final action date more like a regulation the impose later to control how overwhelm they are during processing of green cards AND how many green cards are available.

@A I I was aware they do that but the jump is huge I don’t know if they will use it … I wasn’t excepting them to at least “get ride of December” and having at least 4 months for final actions date but they are unpredictable … only 3 months jump for FAD for the beginning of the new fiscal year ….

this simply means that all those approved till July 2024 can start their DS-260 application once they get the invite by email from their respective NVC. After Oct 1, NVC will start sending application invites to all those approved. this filing date will not help you if you are not approved even if the DoF past your priority date.

@Alexandre Fernandes I had aimilar situtaion in the last year and I have been waiting since thta unitll I filled out my application two months ago. You need to secure a status for at least a yeae as you maybe not current untill October 2026 or littlebit earlier than that time.

@Moda A july 15 is not current, people with PD july 14 and earlier can fille for adjustment of status on October 2025 assuming the USCIS use date of filling - we will know that on Monday. Usually, the date of filling is kept fixed for the whole year and we don’t see movement or little movement before October while the FAD advanced to match the filling date on the ebd of tye facical year.

@Moda A It is too early that we can know that. Just keep checking visa bulletin fo upcoming months and if you see big jumps on the FAD table that is mean that there is a big chances for Feb 2025 to be current on October. Anything can happen and meaybe you get current before that, no one can predict that ot have mathematical equations to predict that.

@it’s me T if you are approved then I think you can file in the next stage since the date is active. my case is in late march 2024 (Nebraska center) and yet no news.

@Oby o @fc @Moda A @Alexandre Fernandes Date of filling table can be used whicg is a huge relief for many people. However, everyone should keep visa status during adjustment unitl get the green card in hand. Because the risk of getting rejected the 485 will put the person out of status. Best of luck everyone.
