It’s possible that they don’t process immigrant visas in Nairobi and send all Ugandan applicants to Kampala. I’d check the embassy’s website.

For example, my Danish wife will need to go to Sweden for her interview because the embassy in Copenhagen doesn’t do immigrant visas

USA embassy Kampala is going to start processing immigrant visa. They are trying to reduce the backlog in Nairobi. Just relax

For the record, Kampala is not processing immigrant visas now and there is no backlog when it comes to immigrant visa. Green cards are always available for spouses so I’m not affected by any backlogs as far as for immigrant visas. The backlog is for non immigrant visas and those are processed in Kampala. Nairobi also processes non immigrant visas but they DEFINITELY process Immigrant visas for the majority of Ugandans.

Hello Joe! I’m sorry not I’m not on here often. I am still waiting at NVC. I had to submit more docs Sept 30 so I should be hearing something within the next couple weeks as far as being DQd. Have you transferred over to Nairobi for interview or are you still attempting with Kampala?

Hi Tracey M. May I ask what steps you had to take in order for you to have the correct embassy involved (i.e. Nairobi)? My beneficiary is from Kampala and unfortunately on my I-129F I mistakenly specified Kampala as the nearest US Consulate. Now I'm very worried based what I'm reading in your post that this will delay us even further. This is for a K-1 nonimmigrant visa btw. Thanks for any information you can provide.
