They're under age for EAD, they should get their social after your interview

you have to apply EAD of your kids too then you can get social, it will help you when you file your tax return , age is not matter , I hv already done this practice

there are 2 ways, you can either apply for a tax id number which can get complicated, the other way is to apply for EAD and then do the the SSN which is easier.

@Mary rocabado I don’t think it matters now, you just need to do it before the tax return which is some time in April so you can file for the tax return. Even then you can get an extension until October but it is better to do it early so you can get money from the tax return. With 2 kids you will probably get a good some of money which can help.
