If they asked for his naturalization certificate or a certificate of citizenship then I'm assuming that's what they are looking for. must follow the exact wording of the request. If they asked for proof of his citizenship then his passport will do. I'm assuming they have no record of him applying for N600 https://www.uscis.gov/forms/explore-my-options/citizenship-through-parents
