I thought my spouse had a citizenship certificate when he got it through his dad as a minor but I just used his US passport as proof , that worked .

What does your minor child has now? naturalization certificate or GC? if he or she has a passport what documents did you use to get it?

I think your minor has only GC and you’re now a citizen, you have to file N600 and get him certificate of citizenship before you can get passport.
