why not? If you have a green card you can petition for someone else. My grandmother got a green card by her daughter and apply directly for her other kids. Yes the waiting time is longer but she is about to become 🇺🇸 citizen so the waiting time will be shorter

you can petition for someone else but the person asked about petitioning for your own parents. Per uscis, you need to be a citizen to file for your parents. I have filed for my parents and my sisters as speak so out of experience. Parents and siblings you need to be a citizen. Spouse and children so long as hou are a greencard holder you can it just takes longer

or maybe just can file petition and let it process
