pls how long before we get the letter because we also in transit

mine was in transit few days ago, and now it says “ready” but my fiancé didn’t recieve email from embassy yet.

did ur fiancé receive email from nvc

because we already scheduled for interview date

We have never received a welcome letter from NVC😢case has been sitting @NVC (3 mos now) We got an email yesterday saying that Mexican Embassy is shut down due to Covid😭It seems it's getting more & more difficult for us being together💔Also, can we do anything else until letter or do we have to wait for letter to pay fees etc? my DS-160 has already expired .

I know how frustrating that is

but I received a welcome letter few days ago from nvc

@Kevin hang in there… i was on that situation for the past 1 1/2 year. we got approved from uscis last August 2020 and never heard from them after that. Then just few days ago they sent us an email that our papers are on transit to the consular office. Just keep praying 🙏🏻 the right time will come.

@raji but how long did it take for welcome letter? NVC has our case for 3 mos & nothing

almost 6 months at nvc

@Nedilyn it took 1 1/2 yrs for complete process or just for NVC to send case to consular office? 💔😔

i can’t say it’s completely processed, because right now I’m just preparing for an interview. we are just waiting for an email from the embassy for my appointment date.

We are losing patience! my fiance wants to move to Mexico because it is taking so long. Now the embassy is closed...who knows for how long😔

@nedilyn if you are k1 you don’t have to wait for embassy for appointment date you have to schedule that urself

once you fill up the ds160 and pay for ur visa payment

don’t lose hope. all that you are feeling right now can’t compare to the joy that is coming when everything is done.

@Nedilyn yes I know process isn't complete but, I'm wanting to know if NVC had your case for the whole 1 1/2 yrs or since you submitted application?

no not 1 1/2 year. August 2020 was my approval date from USCIS, then by March 2021 NVC emailed us that they got our documents. after that we only received random emails from them telling us that they still have our documents. and just this March 18 2022 they emailed us that they are now sending our papers to the embassy.

@raji that's what I'm confused about. Everyone says fill out DS-160 & pay fees. I filled out DS-160 a month ago(exp in 30 days)...never got asked to pay fees. I call or sent Inquiries & nobody answers my questions. so frustrating

@raji i got a notification from lawfully last night that my papers are ready, is that mean the embassy has it already?

refill the DS-160 after that then pay for ur visa fee

&nedilyn that mean you can schedule for appointment once you pay the visa fee

So when I refill DS-160 it will ask me then to pay fees or i should get an email?

embassy don’t schedule for k1 visa

i think we already payed that one when we send our documents before in the USCIS

no that one is different you still have to pay for visa fee of @265

@kevin you have to wait for nvc to send you welcome letter before you can pay the fees

that's what I understood but other people have told me to pay fees then can make an appt @ Embassy. thanx for clarifying this!
