Job change after green card
does anyone here know about changing jobs after receiving the green card? a lot of people are saying to stay with the employer for at least 180 days post green card approval, but there are no such conditions attached to the green card by USCIS. and if they are worried about fraudulence, then why can’t we just show our tax documents, pay stubs, offer letter, etc?
I thought the goal was to have same rights as citizens besides voting and travel restrictions. so this doesn’t add up. someone please enlighten me. Thanks!

As I understand it, it is 180 days after applying for I-485, not 180 days after approval. You should be fine to change jobs

the risk is when u apply for citizenship, they might consider this as fraud if you leave immediately if there wasn't a good reason, other then that nothing is stopping you

@A G isn’t leaving higher pay a good enough reason? and how would it be fraud if I have tax documents and pay stubs to back up the fact that I had a bonafide job offer?

even H1b transfer is future employment, can join the new employers or work for one month and leave, how 180 days after gc is considered to be safe to leave ? in gc uscis doesn't require to file the petition, not sure from where this 6 months wait time is coming
