Hanna, yes! the case is currently 9 months in, but when I submitted my e-request it was 8 months. also I spoke to the OMBUDSMAN regardless. i mentioned my case was VERY urgent and I provided evidence of my bank statements so they knew I was getting into debt

I sent a request and then I called their number to explain how urgent my situation was. they told me to email them with evidence (like a letter from my landlord, my bank statements, etc) and then I just waited!

that’s it, slick! just keep insisting. keep talking to the ombudsman’s office, call them until they give you a reference number! insist on how ugent your case is

How long did it take to get approved after talking with ombudsman?

i originally sent a request December 29th, 2021. I heard back on February 8th saying they were backlogged, and I called the ombudmsan to beg for my case and sent email w evidence on February 23rd. I received an automatic response on February 25th, and then they told me they reviewed my case and reached out to USCIS on March 22nd. I was approved March 24th.

Is there a way to check on the status of the request submitted by the ombudsman? They emailed me that they reached out to USCIS last Monday but I have not heard anything since :(
