I had mine on Friday… they differ hugely. the same officer split up the previous couple to interview separately but for us he asked very few questions.

@claire c, like what type of questions? can you share please ?

like where did you meet your spouse, name of her children if any from previous marriages, when did you propose,any vacation together,date and where you got married,and bills(pepco,life insurance, car insurance, gas bill etc.) good luck sir.

you get sworn in at the beginning. and then the officer went through our forms just to confirm information like names, dates of births, addresses - mostly asking me the beneficiary and later a few very simple ones to my husband. he asked me a lot but not all of the security questions on the form. we had given him a lot of evidence in our initial application but we gave him more bona fides and info of my husbands new job. he asked if my husband had met my parents (he hasn’t but I explained we zoom often with the extended family). he asked us briefly when we met and what we like to do together. he said “well I have enough. wait… do you love each other?” and I said “I guess he’s ok”! and that was it. our lawyer was on the phone and she said she’s never known an officer to be so chatty or ask so few questions so I may not be the best example. but just don’t sweat it… if your relationship is real, just enjoy talking about it and reminisce!

@george e - the officer told us he was approving it but had to update our file because of a few changes (address, chosen name) and that he’d do it by the end of the day. but he didn’t so I’m hoping he gets to it tomorrow. so it’s still on ‘interview scheduled’. I’ll let you know though. can you keep me updated with your status? the officer wasn’t sure how long it was taking from approved to receiving it.

@claire c were COVID protocols still being enforced? wearing of masks? I’m just curious about how interviews are done with the mask on as 50% of the face is covered. lol

mine is coming July 5 in nyc

@kings wifey I imagine that it’s the same everywhere because it’s a federal building but there’s a chance it differs from state to state. but we didn’t have to wear a mask because we’re vaccinated

when they go through the details on the forms, you can get them to update it but also take in offer letter / contract and pay stubs. it wasn’t a big deal at all

well guys, first of all I want to say thanks God for everything and this app helps me a lot since the beginning! thank you lawfully! today we went in the interview this afternoon, so we go inside with the interview notice, they verified with the ids and then you go through security ( take out your electronic devices, belt, keys etc…), then after that you go to do your check in with you id’s and the notice from USCIS, they give you a ticket with a number, every officer came out and call you number, you follow the officer to their office and start the headache: the very first thing to do is the swearing 🖐 she start with my wife ( US citizen) the officer ask her - her address, if she works, if she knows my family, how long we been married then she turn to me and and told me she is going through the i485 form to confirm some questions about security… and another regular questions about my previous relationship (I’m divorced) then she start ask about if I bring any another paper for our case if any different of one she have already, of course I bring more proof. the last thing she ask is the taxes for last year and we bring it to her, she always was serious no smile no jokes no nice actitud 😐 after that she only ask if we have any questions, but before that she seems uncomfortable because my wife fill out her taxes by her self, because I didn’t have social security until few weeks ago and the uscis officer was like 🤔, after that she only ask twice if we have any questions and she just told us have a good day!

I don’t feel like she was confortable with the taxes and her actitud made me feel it wasn’t good interview 😔
