@Verah Ans I traveled three times while my I-751 was pending. As long as you don’t have a criminal record, you’re fine.

@Rocco Forté yes, I traveled abroad last September under the same circumstances and came back with no problems. But things change all the time and now I will go without my spouse plus after 2 years that is still processing. It does make me feel worried.

my wife just returned 3 days ago with expired green card.. don't forget to have stamp on your passport from uscis office nd get extension letter..

if you don’t have expired green card & receipt notice or ADIT on you, you can’t travel ! they might not let you in.. only you can travel within US

Updating… I just got back in US last night. Expired green card since 2024, 48 extension letter, no criminal records. Banned Country. my mom came along with me and went to the same line as resident even though she is a tourist. One question: did you bring any food? It all took 40 seconds.
