USCIS agent told it was sent on 6th Oct and according to him currently Potomac is working on i824 cases of 16th April

@Abraham Thomas are you the applicant on the I824 or the beneficiary? I called and they said information can be given only to the applicant.

no unfortunately not, I spoke with someone who said the latest i should hear is April 10th

what basis u reached the point of April 10th ?

I don’t know how they worked that out. I spoke with an agent on the live chat who said our case should should be looked at no later than April 10th, which will have been 6 months from sending our i-824.

@jonny black at what cases does they work now? and when did you file your i824 ? does your i824 went direct to potomac or later on transferred to potomac?

I filed 13th October, and it went straight to Potomac

my wife’s i824 was first at NBC for 6 months, then transferred to Potomac for “faster processing“. So, does this mean we wait ANOTHER 6 months for Potomac? or does the time continue at 6?

My I-130 either I-824 are in Potomac. For I-824 is 7 months waiting while they told us the processing time in Potomac is 6 months.

there is no fix timeline for I 824, whatever u see on website is just estimation. if u wanna contact Potomac then u can send letter to them informing ur concerns

Mine is at Potomac now for 45 days, Congress sent an inquiry a month ago and still no response for them either.

@Abraham Thomas @Sheetal Ram I’m finally onto the NVC. managed to request a call back on the live chat with a tier 1 agent. They rang my wife who explained our case and he agreed it’s too long so he got his supervisor to sort it out.

Hi Guys, i called USCIS TODAY JAN 8 2024, they said Potomac processing time is 16 months currently. I really hope he is wrong. Can you please guys, call uscis at 800) 375-5283 and ask to "reschedule the interview" that will get you to talk to a live agent and please ask how behind they are? Let's help each- other!

Hi everyone, Joining the conversation. I submitted i-824 for my wife on March 3rd 2023. Ever Since than I have not received any update, nothing at all whatsoever. No Email, No mail, No letters. This past Friday, January 5th 2024 I made a call to USCIS by using the number you can find after searching. Got connected with a live person, i explained my situation detailed manner, meaning when I submitted that, how I still havent received an update and told him how many times i contacted uscis and no one helped. He verified me first ofc, then checked history and told me "Yes looks like you have made several request and none of them were answered properly, Im going to go ahead and escalate this to a Tier 2 agent/officer for you". He then filled up a form and submitted that to a Tier 2 agent. He told me you will get a text before Tier 2 officer will call you. Now just waiting for that text....I Will let yall know what happens next. Praying for everyone so our loved ones comes to us. !!!

Joining the thread, I waited for 16 months for I-130 approval(approved on April 2023) then filled I-824 on June 2023. Its been 8 months and no update. I have tried congressmen but that didn't work with the saying "there is no specific timelines for Potomac for this and Potomac is not handling these types of cases. Hence we cannot expedite your request". Tried calling also but that also didn't worked. Any one knows any other way how to expedite I-824 for the same

Hi , we sent in the I-824 in october 2023. We didn't even get a receipt yet. I just know its handled by the service center in Potomac. This process has ben over 3 years so far with everything. Wish everyone good luck and hope this process will speed up.
