Can you request a I601A before going to your NVC interview? Currently waiting for NVC interview. But wife and I are worried that they might ask for a I 601A , Since she was in the U.S without prior inspection.
She is currently in El salvador. No prior deportations or anything regarding being detain by immigration.

no they have to tell you. you can start the process by if your usc spouse is sick can't move to your country proof and documentation of depression anxiety from you not being here etc

you have to have a i601a approved before the interview.

no if she is in el salvador, i601a is for people who is physically in the usa

if she was here in the USA she’ll need a waiver if not they’ll denied the visa and you’ll have to apply for the waiver and wait for it and then wait for a second interview
