i485 approved
Thankful for people in this community and Reddit. We had our interview yesterday in Philadelphia. The officer was really nice and asked straight forward questions about our names, parents’ names, address, when/where we got married etc. But we had a major issue, the medical package had the surgeon’s signature missing. The officer said he’ll give an RFE, and we need to mail in the signed medical docs. He mentioned as we were leaving, that if we can return with a new sealed envelope with medical completed by the 4pm, he can approve it the same day. Fortunately we were able to. Pro tip: get a copy of medical doc from your doctor in addition to the sealed envelope, otherwise there’s no way to tell what’s missing.

hey deb, congratulations. what’s your FO? how long was your case being reviewed for before it was approved? did you receive your combo card?

Thanks! FO is NBC. Not sure how long it was on review, already added my case timeline. By combo do you mean EAD? then yes, haven’t received the green card though.

oh ok. my PD is September, 2021 and I gave my Bio in October , 2021. I wanted to see how much time will my application take before I receive my EAD and GC interview.

I don’t think the process is very streamlined and consistent. So, you can’t really estimate based on past data. Trying different ways to expedite really helps.

No, Aug 6 was when the i485 status changed to ready for interview. As I mentioned the interview itself was yesterday.

What are they ways that you used to expedite

you can talk to an agent and ask to expedite. In my case contacting the local Senator helped. This was for EAD though, not the green card itself.

the doctor was supposed to give you a copy of your medical when you got the sealed envelope for uscis..
