I used my spouse - the intending immigrant’s income - to supplement mine and we didn’t fill out I-864A. You fill that out if you have dependents. FYI, we haven’t been approved yet but did consult a lawyer.

Tax transcripts are fine (we sent transcripts), but make sure you include W-2’s as well.

We don't have dependents so I didn't fill it out initially but after 4 months got an RFE for it, so I recommend filling it out anyway to be honest

We sent botu transcripts and returns and make sure you put the w2s

I would add also last 6 months of paystubs.

And employer letters as well.

I-864a form is gonna contract between joint sponsor and household member? I’m asking cuz my brother-in-law (my sister’s husband) is my spouse’s joint sponsor so is it necessary we fill out the I-864a?

@s k. i864a is for houshold member i.e. having same resident address. Or else they need to fill out i-864 as a joint sponsor.

your spouse will fill I-864 and your brother-in-law will fill I-864 too unless he is living in the same address of your spouse then he will fill I-864a.

Why did your brother-in-law filled I-864 and I-864a? He supposed to fill I-864 only as a joint sponser and your sister is the one to fill I-864a.

@Nabeel Beidas I asked many people they said this is the contract between household member who is my sister and joint sponsor who is her husband

@Nabeel Beidas check uscis websit that I mention: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/all-forms/tips-for-filing-form-i-864a-contract-between-sponsor-and-household-member it says: If there is a joint sponsor, the joint sponsor may sign this form along with a household member.
