my EAD expires in 4 days haven’t received GC yet

@g p it really differs, my sent RFIE took up to a month before an interview was scheduled

@v cek what was your RFIE about? and did you get approval? I have heard and seen with medical RFE, they are trying to waive interviews

@v cell, did you get an update on your status that RFE was received or did it just change to interview was scheduled?

@g p my RFIE was medicals, I was scheduled for an interview, it depends on the officer too

how do you send expedition request for i485?

@ Rennay V, yes it chnaged to RFE received to ready to schedule for interview and today it chnaged to interview scheduled

how long before it changed to RFE received?

@Rennay V, I’d say a day because I sent it 10/05 and it showed received by USCIS on 10/07

@v cek, wow, I’m still waiting for my status to change to “RFE received” it was delivered last Friday. my lawyer said they won’t change it to that so I don’t know.

@Rennay V, it really depends on the office, some updates are shown, some are not. one of my receipts showed up in my mail and I didn’t see any update on receiving that notice. Gradually you’d start getting updates.

@Dee Id live agent did the expedite request for me, since my EAD is expiring in couple days

I asked bcz I was wondering how long was ur ID valid for .. 2yrs ? if ur case is emp based and ur ead is expiring and u haven’t received ur gc yet then it’s too long ? isn’t it ?

@s p yeah no problem, after all this community is about asking each other anyway, I had my EAD for 1 year because I filed in July 2020 before they changed the duration of it from 1 year to 2 year. I have family based application yeah it’s been a while, most people around my priority date have already got some good responses from USCIS and some has GC on their hand

I bet it must be frustrating! Hope you get a good news soon! I also received medical RFE 2 weeks ago and am working on it. I'll also update you here once I get some information.

took me 23 days after RFE response for that to appear including non business days(weekends)

woke up to card being produced !!!

@Jorge Alvarado you should plan trip with no hesitation. and also you’ll highly likely receive your card by next week. I planned my trip and I wasn’t even here to receive my mail got back today and boom 💥, it was there waiting for me 😂

oh, quick question @gp. Did you get the medical rfe after you had intetview?

@Tommy K they initially scheduled my interview and after 3days they canceled it and than after a month I got medical RFE so I thought they were trying to waive my interview and that’s what they did

Did you send the medical exam documents with all three papers (RFE) you received (two papers with barcode and one paper with different color, explaining the address where you're required to send)? @Tommy K I sent form I-693 and the RFE letter with it. I don’t know what’s the paper with different color, since I didn’t had that. I was asked to send at Fresno FO and that was it.

@g p, my wife got a RFE also for medical . It was also called a "I-693 deficiency notice." Is this what you got? The notice also says not to mail any documents at this time as that can cause delays. did you get the same notice? Thanks for any help you can provide.

@B K the one you’ve received is deficiency notice meaning that you didn’t include medical I-693 when you submitted application packet. Medical RFE is different in a way that it lets you know that they are asking for medical to be sent to them and make a decision which could be final on the case resulting in INTERVIEW OR INTERVIEW IS GOING TO BE WAIVED.

@ g p yeah, it was a weird notice. On one hand, it says deficiency notice, but then it also said not to mail anything back to them as that could cause a delay. Any advice on what to do? Do we just wait until the interview date and then bring the form with us then?

@B K yeah from legal stand point, I was suggested to wait until interview notice arrives. you just sit it out for now. but be prepared to get medical done as soon as you get interview notice and take that to your interview.
