@et sun Yes. I applied for AOS within the US. The RFEs are I-864 with other financial support evidences, evidences for legal non immigration status and I-94, and new I-693 medical exam as the first one was expired.

@W F congrats. what was your service center and when was your interview

@W F I moved within the same state and they sent me another interview

@B s It is the National Benefits Center. Two interviews were in Apr 2025 and Apr 2026.

@W F great.. mine is aug 2023 Pd, interview was done in April 2026. Didn’t receive anything yet. mine is also in national benefit center

@B s Hope you will get some updates in a few months. I waited for 9 months after the first interview and didn’t get anything. The second interview was also scheduled and cancelled by either myself or USCIS for a couple of times. In this way, it takes a couple of more months.

@W F how long after the second interview you got approved?

@R .. The second interview happened in April 2026. A RFE of a new I-693 was also requested after the second interview.

i don’t understand. I thought a green card holder couldn’t file Form I-765 or Form I-485 until the Form I-130 is approved. Can you explain how that’s possible? From what I understand, a green card holder usually has to wait for a visa number to become available before filing Form I-485. Since Form I-765 is based on a pending I-485, I thought the I-765 couldn’t be filed either until the I-485 is eligible to be filed. Can you help me understand how someone can file the I-485 and I-765 before the I-130 is approved? Is there an exception, or am I missing something?
