how many more months after can I apply for mandamus! married since August 2018. Application date September 11, 2024. please advice🙏🏻
had the interview on may 20th, 2025. basic question about marriage and then security questions. had to change my mother’s D.O.B and update on current place of work on 485 and took the signature. handed a white paper saying need more time for decision and wait for 120 days. been 7 months since the interview and the case status still says interview was scheduled; never changed since the initial interview was scheduled. confused and frustrated🤯

Hi, I understand you. The same thing happened to me. I had my interview in April 2025 and I've been waiting ever since without any response.

You could try sending a first “intent to file mandamus” letter first, just as a soft push. It’s basically a polite reminder asking USCIS to take a look at a long-pending case. I did this myself, and my case was approved about 9 days later.
