Talking about Medicaid, I learned that using it can disqualify you from getting a green card according to the Public Charge rule. I know the rule is no longer in effect as of now, but another Republican anti-immigrant president can come along in the future.

@chlo Okra been using it since 2020 had my first initial interview and the immigration officer never brought it up. still to this day using it 🤷🏽‍♀️ .

and if my memory serves me right Medicaid has never fallen under poblic charge

@Sunflower I see. You said since 2020, right. That would be during the twilight of the Trump presidency. So was your immigration interview during Trump era? Did you end up getting approved for the green card?

yes it was within that time , and I didn’t get approved because at the time I enters the country on a J1 visa overstayed and my husband was a green card holder at the time so base on that I got denied , refilled this year of April and got my interview date for next month .
