Hold on abeyance. does it work or I have to file another i485?
Hello folks,
I filed for marriage base i485 since 2019.
I was abused by my wife and she threatened to not continue with the marriage.
I called USCIS to hold my i485 in abeyance while I filed for Vawa in 2021. Vawa was approved March 2023, I received rfe for medical in June 2023 which I have responded the same month and they have received it. since then I haven’t heard from USCIS. I did go to the congresswoman but they told me my case is waiting for officer to be reviewed.
my friend advice me to file another i485 because USCIS make their money through filling of forms, is this normal?

@TJay . you can clearly see that your case is making progress.., haven’t you been reading other stories?? do you think it makes sense for you to file another i485??

@TJay . It seems like your case is progressing well. In my opinion, I would not want to file another I485. When I filed my I485 this year, it was free since it was vawa based. Still, they won’t make💰of it.
