hi... I sent my I-130 form in and I was curious if I had to do anything to set an appointment for my wife or the biometrics for myself or if uscis will be contacting me and telling me when to do it

yes!. anything you submit to them, you have to wait for their reply and instructions. They will inform you on all you have to do. Don't worry you'll be fine. Just have to wait. that's all. 🙂
