Hi guys! N400 approved while I751 was/is still pending. NYC field office
Hi guys! Here's an update, so today I had my N400 interview while I751 was/is still pending. My spouse came with me of course. The officer ask my spouse how we met & after it was pretty much a conversation. Then he moved on to the civics test:
Which day is the last to file federal taxes?
Who sign bills?
Who vetoes bills?
Who is the vice president?
Who is the Speaker of the House?
What do we pledge when we become a citizen of the US?
Reading: What state has the most people?
Writing: California has the most people.
The officer then said congratulations you passed. Then he told me he will be recommending both cases for approval. He went back to his computer and updated my N400 which now shows Oath Ceremony to be scheduled. He wanted to approve the I751 same time from his computer but couldn't (I'm guessing), he said it has to be done on a "different system," whatever that is. He handed me a letter with 'recommended for approval' checked and said I should receive the notice for Oath ceremony in 3 weeks. Sorry for the typos.

We got there early, interview was scheduled for 9:20am, the officer called us in at 11:20am and we were finished at 12:40pm.

no, he only asked for myself driver's license, conditional green card, & passport.

Anyone have an idea how long Vermont is taking in processing I-751? Filed October 2021 and no update since then.

my I751 was at Vermont then it went to NBC (over 1 year waiting). Applied for N400 & got interview scheduled within 50+ days. If you qualify for citizenship, consider applying

For the I751 portion of the interview they will question you about your marriage & life together just like the 1st interview you did to get your conditional green card.

@feckzy Sam, Vermont takes 18-21 months to adjudicate I-751 cases. Depending on the field office, you should be done with a combo including nats in the same time if you apply for your N-400 soon as you’re eligible.

My husband is a people person, we had to wait long (2hours) before we were called so my husband brought that up & let the officer know he has work plus our children to get from school. In return the officer told him that this is more important and he myself has children and started telling us about his time in the army and children

yup both i-751 and n400 pending, definitely expecting combo even tho I was interviewed before for the conditional gc. Hopefully mine would go smoothly like yours!
