so my question is: how long did an asylum usually take? if I file my case in California and still on waiting, can I move to other state?

definitely you can move to another state , just don’t forget to update your address in USCIS? you can contact your local asylum office and ask them for status

take into consideration that we just closed the chapter on an anti asylum presidency, so maybe now they will actually work on asylum cases.
